Day 1 | Infield/Outfield Play

We will be covering infield and outfield. We stress the importance of being able to throw and catch at a very high level as being able to take care of the baseball doesn’t just make you a better player, but also helps put your team in the best position to win and be successful. On this day we will go through both infield and outfield routines that our players go through daily to ensure that we throw and catch at a high level. We will go through clinic drills covering the fundamentals of fielding ground balls and tracking fly balls by going through a series of drills that will lead us into full reptations where all the drills and fundamentals will be put together.

Day 2 | Pitching/Catching

We will be covering pitching and catching. This day will begin with players learning proper warmup routines done by pitchers and catchers to ensure that they are taking care of their arm properly and learn what our pitchers and catchers here at Wilmington College do daily. We will then have pitchers and catcher drills that teach the fundamentals of pitching and catching and then teach the mechanics and mental aspects that players can work toward to make them better. Players will be taught not only mechanics and fundamentals of pitching and catching but also how important it is to field their position and learn valuable knowledge about how to control a running game when there are people on base. Players will not only leave here with fundamentals of mechanics but knowledge that will allow them to keep growing as pitchers and catchers that will enhance their game.

Day 3 | Hitting

We will cover hitting. We will be covering techniques and drills that are taught and practiced by the Wilmington College Baseball team daily. Hitters will learn mechanical advantages as well as mental aspects that will help make them a complete hitter. There will be many different stations that hitters will go through that will help teach the fundamentals of hitting and drill process. Players will leave camp with various drills that can be used to enhance their skills and an understanding of how to practice and prepare to continue to grow as a hitter. We stress focused intensity, hard work quality repetitions everyday to grow into the hitter you want to become.
